You do not need a full parent portal to take registrations
Many academies stall for months waiting on a "real parent portal" before they will take money or waivers online. You do not need an LMS login wall to run tryouts, season packages, or camps. You need a public Register page parents can finish on a phone.
Public Register vs heavy portal
Buy the enrollment storefront first. Add ops software when roster complexity demands it — not before a single family can pay you online.
The portal myth burns seasons
While you demo three portal vendors, Instagram still sends parents to a Linktree that dead-ends. Seats fill at the academy that made Register boring and obvious.
CCCM working site
- $149 first month, then $99/month, three-month minimum - Done-for-you public Register — not a DIY portal project - Money to your academy — CCCM never holds it - Checkout: https://www.getcccm.com/checkout - Club programs: https://www.getcccm.com/sports
When you need a staff desk for clearance and attendance, Academy OS is talk-first: https://www.getcccm.com/academy-os — no public OS price. That is not the same product as a marketing site.
Invented sample (not a client)
"Lakeview Athletic Academy (invented) launched Register for Fall teams in a day, collected deposits to their Square, and waited on any parent-login portal until roster ops actually hurt." Invented — not a live academy.
What parents actually needed last night
- Can we try out? - What does the season cost? - Where do we pay you? - What forms are required? - Where is the gym entrance?
A portal login does not answer those faster than a clear public page. Often it answers them slower.
When a portal becomes reasonable
Large returning bases, complex billing plans, or school-style academic + athletic bundles may want parent logins. Even then, new families usually meet you on a public page first. Do not hide Register behind an account wall on day one.
Site + OS is a split, not a portal fantasy
Public site: marketing, packages, Register. Staff desk (Academy OS): who is cleared, who showed up, who moved teams. You can grow into the desk without pretending the website is the ops system — or that the ops system is the website.
What "working site" still includes
Packages, tryout Register, waivers, coach bios, maps notes, seasonal camps — all without parent logins. That is enough to run a serious academy storefront. Do not let a vendor demo convince you that enrollment requires homework modules and gradebooks you never asked for.
Plain next step
If a working public Register site is what you need, start at https://www.getcccm.com/checkout or email hello@getcccm.com with your school or club name, city, and what you run. If you need staff-desk ops instead, use https://www.getcccm.com/academy-os and expect a conversation — not a self-serve price button.
