Parents will leave if tuition is a mystery — what to show publicly
A parent who likes your school will still close the tab if they cannot tell what a year costs. Mystery is not dignity. Mystery is a bounce.
You do not have to publish every worksheet or every aid decision. You do have to show enough that a family can decide whether to tour, apply, or pay a deposit — without calling three times.
What “enough” usually means
Most private schools can publish this without drama:
- Grade or age bands you serve - A tuition range, a published package, or a clear “family-pay starting at” line - What the listed number includes (instruction, books, lunch, aftercare — say which) - What it does **not** include (uniforms, trips, extended day) - Deposit amount, what it holds, and whether it is refundable - How families pay **you** (Zelle, Venmo, card, Square, or your processor) - A short path to ask about aid if you offer it
If your board will only approve a range, publish the range. A range plus a Register button beats “contact us for pricing” with no form.
Why silence costs seats
Relocating families compare two or three schools in one evening. The school that lists a deposit and a payment method gets the first serious conversation. The school that hides every number gets a “maybe later” that never arrives.
Office staff already know the answers. Parents should not have to extract them one email at a time.
Honest tone, not a sales brochure
Write like a person. Avoid “investment in your child’s future” as a substitute for a number. Avoid shame language about who “belongs.” If seats are limited, say so. If aid is limited, say so kindly and still offer an inquiry field.
Do not invent awards, placements, or “typical family” stories as if they were case studies. If you need a sample look for internal planning, label it invented.
Invented sample (not a client): “Harbor View Independent (invented) lists K–8 family-pay ranges, a $500 deposit that holds a seat for 14 days, and what lunch is not included.” Sample wording only.
What to keep off the public page
- Individual family arrangements - Staff debates about need - Other children’s names - Fine print that contradicts the number you just published
The public page starts the money conversation with dignity. Contracts finish it.
How a working site helps
CCCM rents a done-for-you public Register site for private schools, parish schools, microschools, and similar programs. We build it and keep it current. Your staff send approved numbers; we publish them.
- $149 first month, then $99/month, three-month minimum - Live in about one business day after paid checkout and complete details - One monthly tweak round included (tuition language changes belong here) - Families pay **your** accounts — CCCM never holds tuition or fees - Checkout: https://www.getcccm.com/checkout - Club-style programs: https://www.getcccm.com/sports
Academy OS (attendance, clearance, staff desk) is a different product. Talk first at https://www.getcccm.com/academy-os — no online checkout, no public OS price.
Board fear vs parent need
Boards sometimes worry that a published number will scare people off. Unclear processes scare more people off. If the real issue is that the board has not decided the number, fix that offline. Then publish what you decided.
A working site is not a negotiation tactic. It is a public record of what you already charge.
Sibling and add-on math
If sibling discounts, aftercare, or multi-child packages change the number, say how. Surprise math at the contract table creates anger no website can repair later.
Plain next step
If a working public Register site is what you need, start at https://www.getcccm.com/checkout or email hello@getcccm.com with your school or club name, city, and what you run. If you need staff-desk ops instead, use https://www.getcccm.com/academy-os and expect a conversation — not a self-serve price button.
FAQ
- Do we have to list exact tuition?

- Will listing tuition scare people off?
- Unclear processes scare more families off than an honest range.
- What if we offer aid?
- Keep the family-pay number public. Offer a short private inquiry. Do not paste your committee rubric.

- How fast?
- About one business day after checkout is paid and we have name, city, grades, photos, packages, and payment methods.
