Rainouts stay in text; registration should not

Same-day field closures belong in the channel that reaches tonight's parents — often text or a team app. Season registration does not belong there. Mixing "practice canceled" with "here's the Google Form again" trains families to ignore both.

Two jobs, two tools

**Rainouts / short-notice ops** Fast, interruptive, reaches people already on the roster.

**Registration / fee stack / new family intake** Stable URL, mobile form, clear packages, payment to the club, still findable in March when the December text is gone.

You can keep both. You should not use the rainout thread as your only CRM.

Complement to "no text-thread registration"

If you already know registration-by-chat fails, this is the twin point: emergency weather comms can stay lightweight. Do not use that as an excuse to avoid a real Register page. New families never got last year's rainout thread — they still need a door in.

New families during a washed-out week

Rainy first weeks are when late registrants show up. If your only signup path is the active roster text thread, late families never see it. Keep Register live on the site even while you blast weather updates elsewhere. Closed divisions should read "full" on the site, not only in a text nobody forwarded.

What to publish for weather policy

A short standing note helps: how you decide, where you post, typical cutoff time. That belongs on the site. The actual "canceled tonight" message can still be text. Parents then know where to look without arguing in comments. Link the Register URL from that standing policy page so weather browsers can still enroll for next week.

CCCM working site

- $149 first month, then $99/month, three-month minimum - Public Register we keep current; you still send rainout texts your way - Club fees paid to you — CCCM never holds the money - Checkout: https://www.getcccm.com/checkout - Clubs: https://www.getcccm.com/sports

Roster who-showed after a makeup day is ops. Academy OS is talk-first: https://www.getcccm.com/academy-os — no public OS price.

Invented sample (not a client)

"County Line Baseball Rec (invented) texts rainouts to active rosters but sends all season signup and uniform fee questions to one Register URL on their working site." Invented — not a live club.

Makeup days

When you reschedule a washed-out Saturday, put the makeup date on the site under the affected packages if it is more than a same-day shuffle. Texts reach active rosters; the site reaches people still deciding to join mid-season.

Do not cancel Register when you cancel practice

A washed-out week is not a reason to take the signup page offline. Weather is temporary; mid-season joiners are not.
