What you keep if you cancel the school site rental
Rental should not be a mystery any more than tuition should be a mystery. If you ever leave CCCM’s working-site rental, you should already know what comes with you and what does not.
Here is the honest split.
You keep (export after the three-month minimum)
- The **text** you approved (school name, program copy, tuition language, bios) - **Photos** you supplied - The **contact list** collected through the site (interest, enroll, RSVP — the records of people who used your forms)
That export is so you are not trapped. Your words and your families’ contact data are yours.
You do not keep
- The **site design** (layout, components, how we built the pages) - A self-hostable theme or “the code” - The right to copy our design onto another builder - CCCM’s systems
The design stays with CCCM. This is a rental, not a work-for-hire agency rebuild you take to another host.
Domain
If **you** are the domain registrant, you keep the domain. Point it wherever you want after cancel. The pretty layout does not travel with the name.
If we discussed domain setup under the rental, ask us to confirm who the registrant is **before** you need to cancel. Do not wait until the last week.
Money was never ours
Families pay **you**. CCCM never holds tuition, deposits, aftercare fees, or camp fees. Canceling the site rental does not strand money in our account, because the money was not in our account.
Timing
- Three-month minimum on the working-site rental - $149 first month, then $99/month while you rent - After the minimum, you can cancel and request the export - Checkout if you are starting: https://www.getcccm.com/checkout - Clubs: https://www.getcccm.com/sports
We will not invent a penalty story or a “gotcha” fee in this post. If something about your specific agreement needs a conversation, email hello@getcccm.com.
Why we keep the design
You are paying for a working public door that we run — not for a pile of templates to maintain yourself. If we handed over the design, you would be back in the CMS trap the rental exists to avoid.
If you later want a custom owned site from someone else, take your export and hire that project. Do not expect our layout to be that project.
Invented sample (not a client)
“Lakeshore Day School (invented) canceled after two years, kept lakeshoreday.example as their domain (invented), exported copy and the year’s inquiry list, and did not receive the page templates.” Sample look only — not a live client.
What cancel does not do
- It does not enroll or unenroll students - It does not delete your school - It does not move you into Academy OS - It does not publish a revenge page
Academy OS is a separate, talk-first product: https://www.getcccm.com/academy-os — no public OS price, no checkout.
Before you start, ask any vendor
1. Who updates dates after launch? 2. Where does deposit money go? 3. What do I export if I leave? 4. Do I own the design?
CCCM’s answers: we update on your tweak requests; money goes to you; text/photos/contacts export; design stays with us.
Plain next step
If a working public Register site is what you need, start at https://www.getcccm.com/checkout or email hello@getcccm.com with your school or club name, city, and what you run. If you need staff-desk ops instead, use https://www.getcccm.com/academy-os and expect a conversation — not a self-serve price button.
FAQ
- Can we cancel in month one?
- The rental has a three-month minimum. Plan for that.
- Will you hold our contacts hostage?
- No. Export of the contact list is part of a proper cancel after the minimum.
- Can we screenshot the design and rebuild it?
- Do not copy our design. Take your content. Start clean with whoever you hire next.
- What about student records beyond the form list?
- The working site is not a full SIS. Attendance and clearance live elsewhere (your office, or Academy OS if you use it).
- How do we start if we are not canceling — we are arriving?
- Same checkout link. Read this so the board knows the exit on day one.
