Brochure vs working site

**Brochure:** photos, philosophy, “email us to learn more.” **Working site:** the same honesty, plus ages, seats or waitlist, deposit, payment methods, and a form a parent finishes on a phone.

You can keep the philosophy. Put it second. Put the next step first.

What a 10–40 student program must publish

- Who you serve (ages, days on campus, hybrid or full-time) - How many seats you are offering this term — or “small cohort, waitlist after” - What tuition covers in one short list - Deposit rules - How to tour or observe (even if that is one morning a month) - How families pay **you** - Founder or lead teacher bio that is current - Location honesty (home, church wing, rented room — say it)

Do not perform “big school” theater. Parents who want a microschool want clarity, not a fake campus map.

Why founders stall on the website

You are still writing the handbook, hiring, and buying tables. A Register page does not require a finished handbook. It requires approved sentences and a real payment path.

“Coming soon” reads like vapor. An interest form with a deposit option when you are ready reads like an operating school.

“North Bend Micro Prep (invented) lists 16 seats for ages 6–10, two on-campus days, a deposit to the founder’s school account, and a waitlist form when full.” Invented — not a live school.

Caps and waitlists

If you cap at 12, say 12. A vague “intimate community” with no number makes parents guess. When you are full, switch the button to waitlist. Do not silently ignore forms.

Licensing and claims

Only publish licenses and umbrella affiliations you have. “Seeking licensing” is honest. Invented approval is not. CCCM will place your wording; we will not invent regulatory status.

Founding families

Early families are doing you a favor and taking a risk. Treat the page like a contract preview: days, cost, what happens if the cohort does not fill. Surprise closures belong in a conversation you start — not in a radio silence after a pretty brochure.

Photos that match the room

Use the real room, the real yard, the real lead teacher. Stock classrooms make a 12-student program look like a catalog. Get release for any child in a photo. Empty-room photos are fine if that is what you have on week one.
