Sharing a church building: your school still needs its own Register URL

Many microschools, parish schools, and hybrid programs meet in a church education wing. That is fine. Burying enrollment under “Ministries → Children → School (maybe)” is not.

The church homepage serves worship, giving, and events. Your school needs a public Register URL parents can bookmark and text to a spouse.

Why a buried page fails

Link the church and school to each other. Do not make them the same page.

What the school URL should own

- Mission and ages in plain language - Days on campus and hours - Tuition or family-pay clarity - Deposit and payment methods to **the school account** - Drop-off door, parking, and which entrance is not the school - Register / interest form with photo release and emergency contacts

Print that URL on flyers. Put it in the church bulletin as a full link, not “see the office.”

Shared facility, separate money

If tuition lands in a parish account, say which account and which memo line. If the school has its own books, say that. Ambiguity about money in a shared building creates quiet distrust.

Governance clarity

Who approves website copy — school board, pastor, or both? Decide before launch so updates are not stuck in a three-person email loop. We update from one approved contact’s tweak list. That contact should not be “whoever answered the phone this week.”

First-day logistics are enrollment content

Wrong door, locked wing, and funeral overflow parking are why families feel the program is chaotic even when teaching is excellent. Publish the practical map notes on the school site. Update them when the building schedule changes for Holy Week or vacation Bible school.

Bulletin vs website

The bulletin announces. The website enrolls. A QR code to Register is fine. A QR code to a PDF packet that must be printed is how you recreate the spreadsheet problem with better marketing.
